Difficult life events can disrupt our natural balance. Whether illness, death of a loved one, or loss of a job/relationship, challenging events also offer an invaluable opportunity to heal at a deeper level. They unveil our superpowers and transform us into a more aligned and authentic version of ourselves.
This retreat offers support to those exploring a conscious healing path, by bringing together yoga and ceremonial-grade cacao from the Guatemalan highlands. Used for hundreds of years by the Maya people, cacao is an ancient plant medicine that facilitates deep healing by energizing and oxygenating the body. The workshop will begin with an introduction to cacao and cacao ceremony, transition into a gentle yoga flow, and conclude with guided contemplation and discussion. The practices will help release physical and emotional densities so that we may become more present, focused, and connected. Together, we will unearth patterns and blockages and find deeper meaning and purpose in our struggles and lives.
Courtney studied cacao shamanism with a revered cacao shaman in Guatemala (www.keithscacao.com). She is experienced in conducting formal ceremonies. For more information, contact Courtney at [email protected]
Note: Contraindications for cacao include pregnancy, serious heart conditions, and anti-depressants / SSRIs at medium to high dosage. Those with these conditions are still very much welcome but will be invited to drink less cacao.
Level: All are welcome.
