Every Sunday, 6-7:30 p.m. Refuge Recovery is a peer-based group of non-professionals dedicated to helping each other recover from the suffering of addiction. Through the Buddhist practices of meditation, generosity, kindness, and renunciation, participants explore the causes of addiction and empower themselves to be free of suffering. Each meeting includes a period of meditation, readings from various Buddhist teachers, and open discussion. All are welcome regardless of religious beliefs (or non-beliefs) and no prior knowledge of meditation is required. By donation: suggested $5-10. For more info about the group, call Bob at 207-975-6949 or Amy at 203-856-6699 or send an email to [email protected].
