Shambhala Level V: Open Sky

with Shastri Christine Heming
Friday, November 30, 7-9 p.m.
Saturday, December 1, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, December 2, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Way of Shambhala was designed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche based on the Shambhala teachings of his father, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. The Shambhala Path emphasizes the development of genuineness, confidence, good humor, and personal human dignity.
Open Sky is the final training weekend in the Way of Shambhala program. In the retreat, we learn to communicate with the world gently and fearlessly. Our awareness is sharpened. We find the open, clear sky of mind -- a delightful source of wisdom and uplifting energy. We learn to trust our nature enough to let go into the present moment. Our hearts soften, and we appreciate the sacredness of our daily lives.
With our body resting on the earth -- no different from the earth -- and with our mind resting in the sky -- no different from the sky, we encounter the vastness of heaven joined with the primordial depth of earth. We experience how they come together in our very own being. This state serves as the basis for our activity in world.
This weekend workshop includes meditation training and practice, talks by senior instructors, personal interviews, and group discussions.
