Winter Weektun

with Shastri Christopher St. John & Eunice St. John
Tuesday, December 26, 2017 to Monday, January 1, 2018
Early registration is greatly appreciated.

Partial attendance is strongly encouraged if you are not able to come for the full week. The full week is required to fulfill prerequisites of the Shambhala Buddhist path.

Turn over the New Year with clarity, stability, strength, and a strong sense of community.

Weekthun is an intensive, week-long meditation retreat for new and experienced meditators. The program is carefully designed to support participants in deepening their mindfulness-awareness practice. The week includes: group and individual meditation instruction, dharma talks from the teachers, group discussion, movement exercises, and walks. Meditation goes beyond the cushion, with every aspect of daily life becoming a practice of wakefulness and an opportunity to make better friends with ourselves and our world.

You can plan for full days (8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and some evenings, ending with a proper New Year’s Eve feast and enjoyment of the first day of the New Year in silence and contemplation. You can choose from attending the whole week, any three days, or individual days.

Shastri Christopher St. John and Eunice St. John have both been practicing, studying and teaching in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition since 1982. Eunice served as Director of the Brunswick Shambhala Center from 2000-2005. Christopher has been Resident Director of Shambhala Training at the Brunswick-Portland Shambhala Center since 1995. He was named Shastri by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 2016
